Flowers and a signed fluorescence work jacket have been placed at Great Coates level crossing. Work colleagues of the late Paul Hodge, 47, of Grimsby, and David Williams, 40, of Cleethorpes, took the items to the site last night as a mark of respect. Both Mr Williams and Mr Hodge worked for an agency called Manpower; Mr Williams worked on Immingham Docks and Mr Hodge was a transport driver at South Killingholme. Their work mates said both were "like family" to them. As reported, the Volvo which the pair were travelling in on Tuesday night was struck by a train at the crossing. Mr Hodge died at the scene. Mr Williams died a short while afterwards and was taken to hospital by East Midlands Ambulance Service. For tributes from their work colleagues, see Monday's Grimsby Telegraph.
