THESE are the moving words inscribed on a memorial bench, now situated in the play area of People's Park in memory of nine-year-old Connar Kiedyk, who died in an accident at his home last summer.
Connar's family, classmates and teachers from Welholme Primary School gathered in the park as the bench was blessed by Father Edward Martin, the Rector of Scartho.
Connar's 12-year-old sister, Skye, requested the bench in his memory.
"We would come to the park regularly to meet our friends and play," she said. "We used to have a lot of fun, but it is different now.
"I wanted the bench in the play area to show people how much Connar meant to me and how much I loved him.
"I miss him all the time."
After the bench was sprinkled with holy water, balloons were released into the sky to celebrate Connar's life.
Mum Ursula, 39, of Legsby Avenue, Grimsby, said: "We still have our hard days – our first family holiday without Connar is coming up so that will be a testing time. The support we have had since his death, though, has been great. The school, our friends and family have all kept us going.
"We had about 90 sympathy cards when he passed away. It was nice that Skye wanted to do something in memory of her brother.
"We have Connar's grave to visit if we want to reflect, but having the bench in the park means a lot more to Skye and Connar's friends who still play there."
Pupils and staff at Welholme Primary School, Grimsby, raised money for the memorial bench to be erected.
Connar's dad Anthony, 40, added: "Connar was the life and soul of the house, you always knew he was around.
"It is very quiet without him but, as a family, we are keeping each other strong.
"We did not know what the bench was going to look like, but we are over the moon."
As reported, Connar was an avid Manchester United fan and loved going to school. He was adopted by Ursula and Anthony in 2009, and they had fostered the boy for a number of years before then. He tragically died in hospital in June last year, after he was found hanging in his bedroom.
