A HALLOWEEN fundraiser has received dozens of donations since an appeal in the Grimsby Telegraph.
Kevin Theaker announced plans last month to convert the Number One Pub, in Cleethorpes, into a hall of horrors over Halloween to raise money for St Andrew's Hospice.
However, he needed help from the community to make his dark and ambitious dream a terrifying reality, which includes a zombie graveyard, a spider room and live actors.
Since then, Mr Theaker has had dozens of donations, including 300 AA batteries – vital to light up his creations – and even a real coffin.
Kevin said: "People have been really generous and the plans are really coming together.
"A real coffin is going to be a great addition to our collection – but there's still someway to go."
Kevin still needs 300 more AAA batteries, and is looking for someone of note to open the Halloween extravaganza, which is taking place over four days on Saturday, October 27, and Sunday, October 28, and then on Tuesday, October 30, and Wednesday, October 3.
The following week, Mr Theaker has arranged a ghostly tour of the Yarborough Hotel, in Grimsby, starting at 8pm and lasting until about 3am.
He hopes the events will raise thousands of pounds for the hospice, in Peaks Lane, Grimsby.
"We have always gone all-out for Halloween – it's just something we love doing," he said.
"My mother-in-law spent her last week in St Andrew's Hospice and it does a lot of great work locally.
"It made sense to use our love of Halloween to support them.
