WHAT are your memories of comedian Norman Collier?
Best known for his faulty microphone act, the performer died aged 87 in a nursing home near his hometown of Hull yesterday.
He rose to fame on the club circuit, getting his break on the Royal Variety Show, and was a contemporary of Little and Large.
He was married to his wife, Lucy, for 40 years, and they had three children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Tributes have been paid to Norman, who had Parkinson's disease, by celebrities including Danny Baker and Jon Culshaw.
Jon wrote on Twitter: "Funny, funny, wonderfully funny man. People would be permanently laughing whenever they were around him."
Norman was a regular visitor to this area. In July 1976, holidaymakers on Cleethorpes seafront got a brief taste of what this season's summer show on the Pier Pavilion had in store when the whole cast, including Norman, took a stroll along the beach.
