POLICE are investigating an incident during which a group of people are alleged to have shouted racist abuse at shop staff in a Grimsby street.
At around 7pm on Saturday, February 23, a group of four people, including adults and children, allegedly walked past the Istanbul takeaway at the junction of Victoria Street and Pasture Street and shouted racial abuse through the open door.
The group was challenged by the people inside the shop who went out into the street and a physical altercation ensued.
Police were then called and arrived at the scene whilst the disturbance was ongoing.
Officers want to speak to any witnesses to all or part of the disturbance and ask that anyone with information contacts Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 referring to log 8 of 23 February 2013.
