GRIMSBY Town have sold more than 8,000 tickets for the Mariners' FA Trophy final at Wembley.
That figure includes those that went on sale through the Football Association website prior to tickets going on sale to season ticket holders on Wednesday.
Over 3,000 were snapped up on the first day of sales with well over 1,000 being sold on the club's dedicated online ticket office.
Excitement is steadily building ahead of the final against Wrexham on Sunday, March 24.
In response to that demand, the club are extending ticket office opening hours from 9am to 7pm today to allow for sales of tickets to both Wembley and tomorrow's clash with Kidderminster – for which over 1,300 tickets have already been sold, with club bosses hopeful of a 5,000 gate.
Tickets are being sold from the blocks nearest the halfway line and there are no restrictions on the number that can be purchased by season ticket holders, who exclusively have until 12noon tomorrow to secure their seats.
From 5pm, the ticket office will reopen for Wembley sales to those fans who have retained their counterfoil from tomorrow's clash with Kidderminster.
The club shop will stay open until 8pm tomorrow, opening again on Sunday from 10-4pm.
Tickets are priced at £30 for adults and £15 for concessions (under-16's). For more information, visit www.gtfc.co.uk.
