AN MP has called for urgent talks with the Government after it was revealed that two Caistor schools may have to merge.
Caistor Yarborough and Caistor Grammar - consistently the top performing school in Lincolnshire - have been put on a list of twenty schools that Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) is concerned about because of budget cuts.
The schools both currently rely on £390,000 grants from LCC but due to funding changes in two years time, they will not be able to get more than £200,000 – bringing about questions of a merger.
Gainsborough MP Edward Leigh has promised to write to Michael Gove in an attempt to save the two schools.
