North East Lincolnshire Council's gritting lorries will treat the borough's main roads at 8pm tonight.

A light wintry shower could fall close to the east coast, but overnight temperatures are expected to fall below zero.

During tomorrow afternoon and into the evening, a band of snow is expected to move eastwards and significant snowfall could accumulate in our area, which could be higher in the Wolds. At this moment, showers are expected on Saturday morning.

Jason Longhurst, head of development, said: "Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to continue to take care when out and about.

"Although some milder temperatures are forecast for the weekend, we still have some very low temperatures and potentially some more snowfall to deal with before that.

"Away from the main roads, there is still a great deal of slush which is freezing overnight and causing problems in the early mornings.

"We are continuing to keep a close eye on the forecasts and all of our teams are on standby ready to deal with the conditions."
