THE Met Office has warned of potentially heavy snowfall in North East Lincolnshire on Friday evening.
At present, a yellow warning for 2-5cm of snow is in force in the borough though this has today been upgraded to an amber warning in parts of neighbouring North Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire where accumulations of 4-8cm are possible.
Tonight, temperatures are expected to fall to around -4C in Grimsby and may drop as low as -9C in rural areas.
Any snowfall on Friday night is likely to melt fairly quickly over the weekend and into the early part of next week when spells of heavy rain are forecast along with milder temperatures of up to 7C.
