THIS team's unwavering love for the Humberston Fitties has earned them resort-wide recognition.
George Nixon and the rest of the Humberston Fitties Neighbourhood Watch are the latest nominees for the Improving Cleethorpes Together Awards.
They work around the clock, tidying, cleaning and making sure chalet owners are safe.
And they do it all because they are in love with the unique site which is steeped in history.
George, 64, is thrilled their hard work has been recognised.
He said: "It is absolutely wonderful. We have had awards before but this is our community saying thank you to us, which feels great."
As revealed in the Grimsby Telegraph, the awards were launched late last year by the Cleethorpes South Forward Neighbourhood Forum to honour those who do their bit for Cleethorpes.
George sold his home and his business to live on the Fitties.
He and two assistants orchestrate 24-hour patrols of the site, shared between 50 members of the watch.
The group also do tide watch, have developed a small wildlife garden and have even rescued animals like birds and seals which were in danger. George continued: "The Fitties is an amazing place. It is one of a kind, which is why we all choose to live here and that is why we look after it.
"The patrols take a lot of organising but we can't class it as work because we enjoy it so much."
