A man suffered bruising to his leg after he was hit by a car as it reversed from a car park in Grimsby yesterday.
The man was walking with his wife across the entrance to the car parks on Garden Street at around 10.45am when a blue car being driven by a grey-haired man aged around 65 years pulled in front of them.
The car then allegedly stopped and reversed, hitting the leg of the man.
The pedestrian tried to alert the driver by banging on the back of the car but it continued to reverse, nudging him a further three or four times.
The blue car left the scene without the driver speaking to the pedestrian.
Police are now asking witnesses to come forward. In particular, the accounts of a driving instructor and pupil who were in a gold-coloured car close by as the incident happened and another young male pedestrian leaving an adjacent car park may be helpful to police dealing with the case.
They, or anyone else who has any information, are asked to contact Humberside Police on the non emergency number 101 quoting log number 194 of 10 January 2013.
