GRIMSBY Town joint boss Rob Scott is hopeful that a permanent deal for Ross Hannah is close – but insists they won't be made to wait forever. After Town's initial bids for the frontman were batted away by his parent club Bradford City, Scott revealed that their latest offer is now under consideration by the League Two club. Speaking to the Telegraph, Scott said the management duo are hopeful that an agreement can be reached. "Our offer for Ross is back with Bradford at the minute," said Scott. "We've gone in with a couple of offers that have been rejected, but we've gone back with another and that's on the table now. "It seems as though it's fairly close to something happening with that, although they did get two players injured on Boxing Day which leaves us in limbo a little bit. "We hope it's moving closer but as with anything, it's never done until it's done." Hannah enjoyed a hugely successful three-month spell with the Mariners, scoring nine goals and becoming a fans' favourite. Scott says he would be 'delighted' to agree a permanent deal for the 26-year-old, but he stressed that the Mariners will not be made to wait too long, as they look to bolster their high-flying squad in January. He added: "Ross went back to Bradford after having a successful period here and wasn't even involved – that indicates that he's not in their plans, so we're hopeful that something can be done." "We've stated our position but we don't want to hang around. "We want someone in fairly soon to bolster the squad in that particular position, so we'd like to see something concluded for Ross but we're in the hands of Bradford. "Ross knows that and he and his agent are trying to push that along. "We've done our work and it's now a case of waiting for some feedback. "We're in constant conversation with his agent, who is aware that he needs to push it forward from his side of things before the deal does go dead. "We're not going to wait forever but in saying that, with some things, you do have to bide your time. "But it certainly won't be a case of sitting and waiting around until the end of January – we want something in place soon. "Ross is in the box seat because he's been here, performed well and earned his deal. We'll be delighted if it was converted but we would just have to carry on if it wasn't. "He'll certainly be an asset to the football club. But if it wasn't to be, then I'm sure we'd bring somebody in who would do equally as well for us."
